People living in and around Wallaceburg have a chance to meet the people running to represent them on Chatham-Kent's (CK) next municipal council.
A meet-and-greet has been scheduled for October 15 at the Wallaceburg UAW Hall from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The first hour of the event will be a social hour, with the public able to speak directly with each candidate. The second hour will be a moderated Q&A with mayoral candidates, followed by a Q&A with the Ward 5 candidates, focusing on pressing issues in the area.
Thirteen people have put their names forward for Ward 5. They are Bill Arends, Brendan Authier, Loree Bailey, Jim Blake, Dave Brunditt, Steven Burritt, Jason Debuck, Brent Denure, David Hyatt, Zac Nicholson, Victoria Stewart, Bill Wolsing, and Chris Young.
The Wallaceburg area will have two new faces on the next council as current Councillors Aaron Hall and Carmen McGregor have announced that they won't be seeking re-election.
