Single Vehicle Collision Leads To Charges
A 25-year-old man has been charged after crashing his vehicle while allegedly impaired.
At around 7 p.m. on Saturday, Chatham-Kent (CK) police received a report of a single vehicle collision on Erieau Road near Charing Cross.
When officers arrived, they found the vehicle but no driver. The officers found the driver, suffering from injuries from the crash, a short distance from the vehicle.
The driver was arrested and taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance to be treated for his injuries. It was at the hospital where he provided a breath sample, which police say registered a blood alcohol level above the legal limit.
He was charged with driving while impaired, driving with an open container of liquor, failing to remain at the scene of a crash, and failing to report a collision.
He's since been released from police custody with a future court date.
Indecent Act
CK police have charged a 33-year-old woman for allegedly committing an indecent act in a Chatham apartment building.
At around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, officers were called to a building on King Street West. When they arrived, they found a woman in a "state of undress" in the lobby.
She was arrested and charged with committing an indecent act.
She's been released from police custody with a future court date.
