CK councillor re-elected to FCM board

Councillor Alysson Storey will continue to represent Chatham-Kent on a national stage.

The Ward 6 councillor was recently re-elected for her second term to the 2024-2025 Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Board of Directors.

"I learned a great deal about the relationship between federal-municipal governments and made meaningful connections with municipal officials across Canada," said Councillor Storey. "To be re-elected to a second term is real honour as there was a strong slate of candidates running. I'll continue to do my best to ensure that Chatham-Kent's priorities are heard and addressed at the federal table."

FCM is a strong advocate for communities across Canada, that informs the federal government of municipal issues and needs.

One major focus of FCM is urging the federal government to properly fund critical infrastructure needs, to ensure municipalities can meet the needs of their current residents and keep up with growing populations.

"It's excellent to have a Councillor from Chatham-Kent on the board of FCM and it gives Chatham-Kent a voice at the table when issues affecting all of us are brought up," said Mayor Darrin Canniff. "I congratulate Councillor Storey for her appointment and look forward to having her bring the voice of our community to the FCM table."
