Finally, the losing streak has come to an end.
The Sarnia Legionnaires returned to the win column, snapping a painful 67-game losing streak at home at Pat Stapleton Arena with a 4-1 win over the visiting St. Thomas Stars.
The win marks the GOHL club's first victory since February of 2025, bringing an emotional end to a winless stretch that spanned over a full calendar year.
Leading the charge up front was forward Evan Bannister, whose relentless work rate set the standard for the entire lineup.
The Sarnia Sting draft pick scored a hat trick, including an empty-netter in the final minute of the game.
Dante Caruso also netted a goal for Sarnia, while goalie David Healy turned aside 54 of 55 shots on the night.
The Legionnaires won't have long to savour the victory as they immediately prepare for a quick turnaround.
Sarnia will visit the Komoka Kings on Saturday, October 31 at the Komoka Wellness Centre, looking to carry this momentum forward.
