St. Clair County records largest cocaine bust in its history

The St. Clair County Sheriff's office in Michigan is reporting the seizure of a record amount of cocaine for its drug taskforce.

Just after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, officers stopped a semi tractor trailer on Pinegrove Avenue near the Blue Water Bridge.

Officers allegedly found about 370.7 pounds of cocaine inside the vehicle, worth $16.5 million.

Police said the suspect is being held at the St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center awaiting arraignment.

The Sheriff's office is thanking the St. Clair County road patrol, K9 Brock, Port Huron Police Department, Michigan State Police, and Homeland Security Investigations for their assistance.

They said the drug taskforce remains committed to fighting narcotics trafficking in their community.
