Sacred Heart Catholic School in Port Lambton finished in the top three schools in Ontario during a recent fundraiser.
The elementary school collected $9,200 in the Jump Rope for Heart event, coming in third in the province, and seventh across Canada.
In a news release, Principal Courtney Mellow said it was an awesome event.
"Our students, our staff and our entire community really turned out to support us this year, because we were doing it for Seth," said Mellow. "He inspired us to go all the way!"
Grade five student Seth Nottley is at a hospital in Toronto recovering from a cardiac arrest that happened on the school playground, and is making good progress in his recovery.
Money raised during Jump Rope for Heart will go towards the Ontario Heart and Stroke Association, which also plans to include Nottley as the focus of its 2022 Jump Rope for Heart development strategy.
