Chatham woman charged with breaking into home

Chatham-Kent (CK) police have charged a 33-year-old woman after she allegedly tried to break into a home.

On Wednesday, officers were called to a home on Selkirk Street in Chatham for a possible break and enter.

When police arrived, they found a damaged window that appeared to have been forced open.

Officers entered the home and found a woman inside. She was arrested and charged with breaking and entering.

During the investigation, police discovered that the woman was prohibited from being near the home. She was subsequently charged with failing to comply with a probation order.

She remains in police custody, awaiting a bail hearing.
