Woman wanted for skipping court arrested in Chatham
A call about some suspicious activity in Chatham Tuesday afternoon led officers to a wanted woman.
Chatham-Kent police said they found the woman in the area of Duke Street shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday and confirmed she was wanted for allegedly skipping a scheduled court appearance for a fraud investigation from 2021.
The 44-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and later released with a future court date.
She is currently charged with theft of mail, fraud, making a false statement, uttering forged documents, failing to comply with a court appearance order, and being unlawfully in a dwelling.

Wallaceburg man nabbed for missing court date
A 30-year-old Wallaceburg man who was wanted for skipping his scheduled court date has turned himself in.
CK police said the man was wanted on a warrant after he missed a court date in relation to an impaired driving investigation from June 2023.
Officers said the accused turned himself in at the police station in Wallaceburg shortly before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and was later released with a future court date.
He is charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
