Psychiatric assessment ordered for teen accused of murder

There will be a psychiatric assesment done on a youth charged with murder in the death of another youth in Holmesville.

In a brief video court appearance in Goderich Thursday, the teen heard the judge accept the recommendation of both the Crown and defence.

Justice Timothy MacDonald ordered that the youth undergo a psychiatric and psychological review and that a report be brought back to the court.

The matter will return to court on September 5.

The youth was charged with first degree murder in July, after the victim was found at a property on Cut Line Road between Parr Line and Tipperary Line.

Huron County OPP are asking the public if they have any information to share on the matter, to contact them or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
