CK police briefs - Saturday, October 26

Breach of probation/ warrant arrest

A Chatham man was arrested after he was found to be sleeping at an address he was not allowed to be at.

The 50-year-old was on a release not to be near the property on Tecumseh Road in Chatham.

After his arrest on failing to comply with a probation order it was found that he failed to appear in court on another charge.

He was released with a court date on December 9.

Mischief/ threaten bodily harm

Chatham police were called for a disturbance at a residence on Sheldon Avenue in the city.

Police responded just before 6:30 p.m. Friday after a 22-year-old Chatham was allegedly damaging the property with a baseball bat and threatening to harm other people in the residence with the bat.

When police arrive, the disturbance was over and the man left the residence. When police searched the area he was found on St. Clair Avenue and was placed under arrest.

He was charged with utter threats to cause death and mischief under $5,000. The man was released with conditions with respect to the victims and property and a November 25 court date.
