It's road paving season and Chatham-Kent (CK) is planning to rehabilitate dozens of roads across the municipality.
CK council will be asked Monday night to approve $6.3 million in pavement resurfacing projects.
A staff report noted 30 kilometres of pavement, one lane in width, are up for resurfacing, including repairs to concrete curbs, catch basin adjustments and replacements, driveway and boulevard restoration, addition of paved shoulders on rural roads, and pavement markings.
Construction is planned for this summer and fall and should be complete by the end of October, according to staff.
The municipality said 3D imaging technology was used to determine which roads needed resurfacing.
Pavement resurfacing in Tilbury and Wheatley is done through a separate annual contract, according to administration.
CK currently has 1,561 kilometers of paved roads.

Affected residents will be notified about the work by hand delivered notifications before construction begins, the municipality noted.
Administration said road construction signage will be implemented and road closure notices will be issued in advance of the work.
