CK police help OPP to arrest break-in suspects

Chatham-Kent police were able to help out their colleagues with the Ontario Provincial Police track down a pair of break-in suspects.

CK police said OPP started the investigation shortly before 6:30 a.m. Monday after finding a vehicle that had been involved in a break and enter in their jurisdiction.

Officers said three people fled the scene, but OPP were able to arrest one of the suspects and contacted CK police to help find the other two.

Those other two suspects were eventually found, arrested, and taken to an OPP detachment for processing.

Wheatley man arrested in domestic violence case

A 25-year-old Wheatley man is facing charges in connection with a report of intimate partner violence.

Chatham-Kent police said they got that report at around 1 a.m. Monday at an address in Wheatley, adding that by the time officers arrived, the suspect had already taken off.

Police were able to obtain an arrest warrant for him and found him at his residence at around 10:45 a.m. Monday.

He was taken to police headquarters and is charged with several offences including assault and uttering threats.

CK police pick up wanted man at Windsor jail

Chatham-Kent police drove down to Windsor on Monday to pick up a man who had made their wanted list.

CK police said he was released from the Southwest Regional Detention Centre at 3:45 p.m. on Monday and was wanted in Chatham-Kent in connection with an intimate partner violence investigation.

He was taken back to CK police headquarters for processing and was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.
