UPDATE: One of two suspects wanted for assault in downtown Chatham surrenders to police

One suspect has turned himself into Chatham-Kent police, but another remains at large following an assault in downtown Chatham over the weekend.

Police said Kayden Alward, 19, of Chatham surrendered Wednesday morning, but police are still searching for Kodin Young, 21, from Chatham (photo above).

Young is on the CK police Most Wanted List and is wanted for aggravated assault. Alward was also wanted for aggravated assault after a disturbance on King Street East in Chatham shortly after midnight on Saturday where a male victim suffered a "serious puncture wound."

The victim was taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical treatment and is currently recovering at home, according to police.

Investigators reported on Tuesday afternoon that Ethan Carron, 20, of Wallaceburg has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault in connection the incident.

Police are warning the public to not approach or interact with Young because he may be considered dangerous and members of the public have no authority to detain him.

Police are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Young to call Chatham-Kent police at 911 or 519-352-1234, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information leading to the arrest of Young may be eligible for a cash reward.

Information may also be forwarded by contacting Detective Constable Rob Bowles at 519-436-6600 ext: 80655 or robbo@chatham-kent.ca.
