Call about suspicious vehicle leads to Chatham man's arrest

A 31-year-old Chatham man is facing a handful of charges, including drug-impaired driving after police in Middlesex County followed up on a tip about a suspicious vehicle.

Middlesex OPP said they were called to the area of Twelve Mile Road in Middlesex Centre at around 4:15 p.m. on Friday, October 18 and found the vehicle parked at the side of the road.

Officers went to check on the driver and determined he was impaired, so he was taken to the London OPP detachment for further testing.

The accused was later charged with driving while impaired by drugs, failing or refusing to comply with a demand, driving while under suspension, driving with an obstructed licence plate, and driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available.

The man was later released from custody with a future court date in December.
