Taylor Swift concert tickets net $9,600 for CK Hospice

Two teens are over the moon with excitement after their family put in the top bid for the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation's Taylor Swift auction.

And officials with the local hospice foundation are also celebrating a big win.

The auction wrapped up Thursday night with a high bid of $9,600 and all of the proceeds from the sale will support the CK Hospice.

"We are ecstatic with the results," said Julia Earley, Community Relations Specialist with the CK Hospice. "We were watching the bids coming in... we had about 42 bids coming in over the time period, so we were all very excited to watch this."

The winning bidder, Paul C., told CK Mornings with Chris, Allanah, and Matt on 94.3 CKSY on Friday that the tickets will go to his 16-year-old and 18-year-old daughters.

"There are some very happy teenagers here in this household this morning, I tell ya," said Paul. "We knew that it would be tough to be the winning bidder, so when it came through, there were some shrieks of joy."

Paul said the family had a budget going into the auction and they were going to stick to it, so he is really happy that it worked out for them.

"We wouldn't just buy tickets... but it was the ability to support an absolutely amazing cause in the process that allowed us to justify it," said Paul.

The pair of tickets for the Eras Tour show in Toronto on November 16 was put up for auction after the CK Hospice Foundation received them from some generous donors.
