Canada Day closures in CK

It's Canada's birthday and the first long weekend of the summer.

Canada Day events have been planned across the municipality, but as with many holiday Mondays, there are also a number of closures and service disruptions to keep in mind.

Municipal offices and services including CK Public Health, Employment and Social Services, and Housing Service will be closed for the holiday.

Emergency services will be available by dialing 911. The Homeless Response Line at 519-354-6628 will also be available for any emergencies.

The Service Ontario locations in Chatham and Dresden will be closed.

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance will have altered services in both Chatham and Wallaceburg. The Emergency Departments at both hospitals will remain open, as will Hemodialysis Care, and anyone with a scheduled diagnostic test is advised to show up for their appointment.

The Chatham-Kent Public Library will be closed on July 1, as will local pools, arenas, theatres, and museums. EarlyON programs will also be closed.

Garbage and recycling pick-up will be pushed back a day and any municipally operated transfer station or leaf and yard depot will be shut during the holiday.

Those who ride the bus will need to find another way to get around, as Ride CK won't be operating on Monday.
