Police training exercises continue in Chatham this week

For the third week in a row, the Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) is once again conducting training exercises in Chatham.

There will be an increased police presence at the former St. Ursula School at 426 Lacroix Street in Chatham from Tuesday, May 5, until Thursday, May 7.

Police warn that "realistic sound effects" may be heard by nearby residents during the exercises.

"Members of the public are advised that this is only a training exercise. There is no cause for alarm," said a release from CKPS.

Police are asking people to avoid the area while the exercises are underway, adding they appreciate the public's understanding and cooperation as officers participate in this "important training."
