The Windsor Spitfires first losing streak of the season is over.
They hosted the Peterborough Petes on Sunday and ended up winning 4-1. They were coming off losses to North Bay and Saginaw.
It was Peterborough that got off to an early lead as Grayden Strohack got his first OHL goal seven minutes into the game. It took Strohack 72 games to get his first goal.
The Spitfires tied the game in the second period when Owen Outwater found the back of the net for his 4th goal of the season.
The third period is where Windsor showed why they’re one of the best teams in the OHL.
Josef Eicher got his 1st of the year with just over nine minutes left to play. Shortly after, Ilya Protas scored his 11th before Anthony Cristoforo found the empty net for his 3rd goal.
With the win, Windsor’s record improves to 13-4-1-0, while Peterborough moves to 1-13-1-3.
The Spitfires’ next game is on Thursday, November 14, on the road against the North Bay Battalion.
