The Town of LaSalle has certified its election results, noting a discrepancy between what was published on Election Night.
The Town used online voting for this year's municipal election with the election software vendor, Comitia.
Voter Help Centres at town hall, the Vollmer Centre, and the Event Centre were available until election day.
The Town reports votes cast at the Voter Help Centres were counted twice in the results released on Monday.
A statement from the software company noted the discrepancy and certified the results.
"Comitia confirms that the election results recorded in the voting platform were calculated correctly and accurately reflect the ballots cast. The raw results report provided to the Town reflects those results," reads the statement from Comitia. "The discrepancy affected information that was displayed and subsequently provided to the Town. It did not alter the underlying ballots or the election results calculated from those ballots. The integrity and accuracy of the underlying election records and results were therefore not affected by this discrepancy.
According to the certified results, 12,343 ballots were cast in the election. That represents a 42 per cent voter turnout.
Michael Macri was elected as Mayor with 4,670 votes, unseating Crystal Meloche, who received 4,594 votes.
