This year''s benefit gala celebrating 10 years of compassionate end-of-life care at Chatham-Kent (CK) Hospice raised nearly $222,000.
The event featured gourmet dining, an auction, and a personal story from a local family sharing their journey with CK Hospice.
The campaign to buy three specialized cuddle beds for CK Hospice also hit its fundraising goal, thanks to the generosity of the guests in attendance, officials said.
Kent & Essex Mutual also donated an additional $100,000 to complete the kitchen renovation at Hospice and the Bank of Montreal made a $30,000 contribution.
Brock McGregor, Executive Director of the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation, said the support shown through the gala demonstrates the extraordinary commitment the CK community has to hospice care.
"These contributions help us enhance the comfort and dignity of our residents while ensuring families continue to receive compassionate care and support at no cost to them," McGregor said.
An exclusive experience and an 18K gold diamond pendant set with .36ct natural Canadian diamonds were also won at the auction.
