Windsor man charged after teenage girl is sexually assaulted

A 43-year-old man is facing a charge following an incident on Canada Day.

On Sunday evening, Windsor police received a report of a sexual assault. Investigators learned that in the early morning hours of July 1, the suspect led the 17-year-old victim behind a business on Pitt Street West. There, the suspect removed her clothes, then his own, and sexually assaulted her.

The suspect was arrested on Tuesday afternoon in the area of Ouellette Avenue and Park Street.

Robert James Scott has been charged with sexual assault.

The charge has not been proven in court.
