Windsor police say two people have been arrested and four others are sought following a violent home invasion on the east end.
Officers responded to a home on Cora Greenwood Drive near Little River Boulevard at around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, on a report of a break-and-enter.
When they arrived, they found three people inside the house. All have been treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
In an update on Friday, police said five people had forced their way into the house, and a sixth person fled before entering. At least three of the suspects had weapons, and two of them were dressed as police officers.
The suspects ran when officers arrived. One was arrested on the spot, and a second was picked up in the area two hours later.
Investigators believe that this was a targeted incident and there is no threat to public safety.
A 31-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy have been charged with break-and-enter to commit assault, impersonating an officer, possession of a weapon, possession of a loaded and regulated firearm, and use of an imitation firearm to commit an offence.
Both are also charged with three counts each of assault, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, and pointing a firearm. They also face two counts each of armed robbery.
The 31-year-old man is also charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
The charges have not been proven in court.
Residents who live in the area of Cora Greenwood Drive, Hong Court, and Whistler Crescent are asked to check security or dashcam footage from between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, and give police a call if they see anything unusual.
