Windsor study on truck route seeks public input

Since last summer, the City of Windsor has studied truck routes throughout the municipality. Now, it wants the public's feedback.

The city has posted a short, three-question survey online, asking residents what changes they want to see.

Two public meetings are set for next week to gather as much feedback as possible. The first is on Monday, April 29, at 6 p.m. at the John Muir Public Library on Mill Street, while the second is at the WFCU Centre's Michigan/Superior/Huron room on Tuesday, April 30, starting at 5 p.m.

Two options are under consideration to safely and efficiently transport cargo by truck with as little impact on residents as possible.

"Given recent and planned changes to the city's land use, including new industrial areas and new residential development, there is a need to ensure that the city's truck route network appropriately serves both current and future conditions," said a report on the study.

Arcadis is leading the project. It's conducted truck route studies across the province.

The study should wrap up this spring.
