A traffic violation against a Windsor police deputy chief is a likely topic to be discussed at a meeting this week.
Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens has called a meeting of the Windsor Police Services Board for Friday at noon. The meeting was confirmed in a release sent out Tuesday by Chief of Staff Andrew Teliszewsky.
The release said the in-camera meeting will cover several topics. Though it did not specifically list the agenda, one is believed to be the stunt-driving charge against Deputy Chief Jason Crowley.
According to a statement from Windsor police issued over the weekend, Crowley was pulled over in his personal vehicle on January 7 in Amherstburg. He had been clocked going 110 kilometres per hour in a 70-kilometre-per-hour zone. Crowley was off-duty at the time.
Police also said Crowley reported the incident to Chief Jason Bellaire and was issued a summons. Bellaire has since directed the Professional Services Branch to investigate further. Police will not comment again as the matter is now before the courts.
Any decisions by the board will be shared with the public after the meeting Friday afternoon.
