Windsor residents may disagree, but Money Sense Magazine says the city is not the best place to live in Canada.
In fact, the city fell ten points in this year's ranking of "Best Places To Live" to 156th place among 219 communities across the country. It placed 146th on the list in 2015.
Leamington was 157th on the list, up from 160th last year.
The magazine says it ranked cities and towns in 35 categories based on information from Statistics Canada. Crime rates, housing affordability, population demographics, weather, and taxation are among factors weighed into the ranking. A perfect score is 103, but the top city, Ottawa, scored just 71.1.
Also in Southwestern Ontario, London was ranked 30th, up one spot from last year. Sarnia fell nine points to 144th place, while Chatham came in at the 187th spot.
The bottom three communities in the ranking are all in Nova Scotia: New Glasgow, Truro and Cape Breton.
