The International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Ironworkers Local 721 now represents workers at CS Wind Canada in Windsor.
CS Wind received the notice from the Ontario Labour Relations Board Wednesday. The notice doesn't include managerial, office, and sales staff or employees above the rank of foreman.
Director of Corporate Affairs Jeff Heath says the process has been fair and equitable. "We welcome a harmonious working relationship with the Ironworkers. It provides a greater sense of security and ensures fairness for all."
"New to Canada in 2011, CS Wind had some 'growing pains' because of cultural differences," says Heath. "With an increasing number of Canadians joining the management team, this has shifted."
CS Wind currently employs 482 employees and has produced over 1,000 wind towers since launching operations in Windsor.
