Blenheim Blades Camp Opens

The Blenheim Blades are opening their training camp and tryouts Monday night at the Blenheim arena.

The open tryouts start at 7:30pm with two more tryouts set for Tuesday night and Thursday night -- also at 7:30pm.

Players who want to try out for the team need to bring permission to skate forms signed from their minor hockey centre and their AAA organizations.

The fee for two nights is $60.

Anyone who is attending should be at the arena to register no later than 6:30pm -- all players that are trying out must enter through the front doors and wear full cages, not half shields on their helmets.

Wallaceburg Lakers Sign Four More

The Wallaceburg Lakers have added four more players to their roster for the upcoming Jr. C hockey season.

The Lakers have signed goalie Kyle Koopmans from Chatham, goalie Josh Loranger from Ingersoll, forward Josh Scott from Palmerston, and 16-year-old defenceman Bailey Smith from Chatham.

Hogg Named Fast Pitch MVP

Thamesville's Brady Hogg was named the MVP of the U18 Men's Canadian Fast Pitch Championship.

Brady hit three home runs and had 13 RBI's to help Team Ontario 1 win the tournament in Prince Edward Island this past weekend.

The team beat Ontario 2 in the finals 5-0 on Sunday.

Brady will be staying in PEI this attend the selection camp for the Junior Men's National Team.
