Presteve Foods Limited is looking to expand their facility, potentially creating more jobs.
The fish processing facility will be going to council Monday night to propose a two-phase expansion.
The company's current facility is located on Erie St. S in Wheatley. The land is roughly 15.42 acres and already houses three buildings.
The company is proposing to add two more buildings -- one of which would accommodate for the company's immediate expansion and the other would be for a future date.
The first building would be a steel structure, approximately 34,262 sq ft. This building would include office, freezer, and storage space.
The second building would also be a steel structure, approximately 15,608 sq ft, and act as additional freezer/storage space.
Altogether, Presteve Foods would be expanding by 49,870 sq ft.
In addition to the proposed buildings, the company is looking to improve the parking lot with either concrete or asphalt surface to accommodate 70 vehicles.
If the expansion is approved, the company estimates it'll create approximately 25 new jobs this year, with the potential to create 75 jobs later on.
