Strong start fuels Sting 7-4 victory over Flint

The Sarnia Sting defeated the Flint Firebirds 7-4 Sunday at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.

Sarnia started the game strong, scoring the first four goals of the game.

The Firebirds picked up speed, scoring two goals back to back in the second period, but they were quickly left in the dust when the Stings Jack Van Volsen scored his second goal of the game and the team's fifth.

Sarnia stayed in the lead, scoring two two more goals throughout the game, one during a power play.

The Sting are scheduled to take on the visiting Niagara Ice Dogs Friday night. Puck drop at 7:05 p.m.
