The Sarnia Police Service (SPS) continue to investigate a crash that happened Sunday.
Emergency crews responded at 2:20 p.m. to the intersection of Confederation Street and Indian Road for a single-vehicle collision.
Emergency first aid was provided to a 68-year-old woman who had seemingly suffered a medical incident while driving.
The woman, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was taken to hospital. No serious injuries were sustained as a result of the crash.
SPS determined that the woman's medical emergency caused her to veer off the road and hit a hydro box, causing a power outage for a small portion of the city.
Bluewater Power resolved the outage quickly.
Police closed the area to traffic for the preliminary investigation, it has since been reopened.
SPS is asking the public to avoid the area of Confederation St./Indian Rd. for the next several hours, as officers are on scene investigating a motor vehicle collision. More details to follow in the coming days with regards to this investigation. ^JM
