Some familiar names made the list during this year's CAA Worst Roads Campaign.
Roads in Sarnia and Windsor round out the top five worst roads in the Southwest Region.
Plank Road took the top spot and Windsor's Tecumseh Road East was voted the second worst road during the online initiative.
CAA South Central Ontario Government Relations Consultant Brian Pirvu said road users shared their primary reasons for selecting a road and intersections.
"With Sarnia's Plank Road we had potholes, poor road maintenance and traffic congestion as sort of the top three issues," said Pirvu. "Potholes, poor road maintenance and traffic congestion as well for Tecumseh Road East."
He said the municipalities of Sarnia and Windsor are listening to the campaign, and improvements to these roads are happening.
"Plank Road is in the middle of a large-scale infrastructure project to repair the road and install underground infrastructure, specifically water mains," said Pirvu. "It's in phase three right now, which just began. They plan to do some work between McGregor Side Road and Highway 40. McGregor Side Road was one of the more notable intersections that was referenced throughout the campaign. Tecumseh is one of the bigger arterial roads within the Windsor region and it's always subject to infrastructure projects."
Assistant Vice President of Government and Community Relations for CAA South Central Ontario Teresa Di Felice said for the last 21 years, the campaign has given Ontarians a voice to help them nominate the roads they believe are in need of urgent repair.
"We know that the campaign works; time and time again, we see roads and infrastructure projects being moved up and budgets prioritized after the road has appeared on the list," said Di Felice in a news release.
Across the province, 145 municipalities nominated over 2,000 different roads in their communities.
CAA said drivers accounted for most of the nominations, while cyclists and pedestrians accounted for about a quarter.
The survey found 53 per cent of respondents cited potholes as their main concerns, followed by poor road maintenance at 52 per cent, traffic congestion at 13 per cent and 8 per cent cited poor cycling infrastructure, or lack thereof.
Sarnia's Blackwell Side Road placed third in the Southwest Region. The fourth worst road is Lauzon Parkway in Windsor and University Avenue West in Windsor and Petrolia's Tank Street tied for fifth.
Hamilton's Aberdeen Avenue was voted the worst in Ontario.
