Organizers of the Stephanie Shaw Memorial Ball Hockey tournament say the inaugural event went so well, they have already started planning for next year. Matt Cook says they raised $3,000 for local mental health initiatives during the July 15th tournament at Canatara Park. "We'll definitely be doing this again next year, we've already got a lot of feed back from the teams, and from people who couldn't make it, already expressing their interest for next season." You won't have to wait until next year to play some ball hockey for a good cause, as a similar tournament has been added to Captain Kidd Days in Corunna during the August long weekend. Cook says 100% of the proceeds for the Stand Up three on three ball hockey tournament stays local as well. The tournament will be on the Saturday of the August long weekend at the CAP tennis courts. St. Clair Child and Youth, Sarnia-Lambton Rebound and the Canadian Mental Health Association will all be part of the event. The deadline to register is Friday, more information about the tournament can be found on the Captain Kidd Days Facebook page.
