A committee's being established to decide what memorabilia from both SCITS and St. Clair High Schools should be saved, and how it should be displayed. Great Lakes Secondary Principal Paul Wiersma says they're looking for people to sit on a History and Memorabilia subcommittee. "If you look in both schools, there's an extensive amount of history and memorabilia," he says. "Plaques, trophies, awards, there's a war memorial at the former SCITS site and we're looking for folks to be able to go through that, work with the Sarnia Historical Society and other groups to determine what are the items we're going to carry forward, perhaps in the format of a heritage room or a heritage hall in a newer facility. There's such and extensive amount that we can't possibly have it all on display so we will also be getting in touch with former owners of the items." The Transition Committee is looking for eight SCITS or St. Clair alumni or former staff. Anyone interested in helping out should contact Mr. Wiersma before October 20 or email him at paul.wiersma@lkdsb.net The Committee will also decide what should be included in a time capsule.
