The community of Thamesville is set to honour its local veterans in a unique way.
Starting Monday, a video projection show will be showcasing photos and ranks of 61 servicemen and women who fought in World War 1, World War 2, the Korean War, Afghanistan, and in peacekeeping missions.
The 11-minute video will be projected onto the Town Hall everyday at 7 p.m. with the last show happening on Remembrance Day.
“[Photos of the veterans] will be projected into the windows, faded out, and replaced by others,” said Darren Carther, the show’s creator.
Many of the photos were provided by the Thamesville Legion. Some came from family members and others from the veterans themselves.
“We had to digitally enhance all these photos, some of these photos are like 80 years old,” added Carther.
The show will also highlight the poppy and Armistice Day.
Carther noted the hope is to make this an annual tradition.
