Argument leads to assault charges
A 42-year-old man has been charged with assault with a weapon following an argument that got out of hand.
Chatham-Kent police responded to a Taylor Avenue address at 11:14 a.m. on Sunday, where officers learned a dispute had taken place the day before.
According to police, a verbal argument between a man and a woman occurred on Saturday and escalated when the man struck the woman with a bottle.
The victim suffered minor injuries in the attack.
When the incident was reported to police, the man was arrested and taken to police headquarters. He was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Harwich man faces slew of charges following ATV crash
Chatham-Kent police arrested a man for breaching his court conditions after he crashed his ATV in Blenheim.
At 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to a collision on Talbot Street West. When they arrived, officers found that a man operating an ATV had driven into a parked vehicle.
Police said alcohol was detected on the man's breath, which violated a previous court condition prohibiting the man from buying, possessing, or consuming alcohol or other intoxicating substances.
A 41-year-old Harwich Township man faces multiple charges including two counts of driving while suspended, and four counts of operating a motor vehicle while prohibited.

Police make multiple impaired driving arrests
On Sunday, officers responded to a traffic complaint on Lacroix Street in Chatham.
Just before 6 p.m., police found the involved vehicle and determined that the driver was intoxicated.
Following tests at police headquarters, a 38-year-old Chatham man was charged with driving with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.
He was released from police custody with an April 29 court date.
Police also charged a Chatham woman for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Shortly after 7 p.m. on Sunday, police were called to a crash at the intersection of McNaughton Avenue East and Taylor Avenue in Chatham.
Officers at the scene believed the 58-year-old woman was intoxicated and took her to police headquarters for further testing.

Theft investigation leads to wanted man's arrest
A wanted man is facing additional charges after his arrest over the weekend.
Just before 7 p.m. on Sunday, police were called to to a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham for a theft investigation.
The suspect had fled the scene on foot before officers arrived, but he was found and arrested on Sheldon Avenue.
During his arrest, officers confirmed that the man was wanted on several warrants related to other theft investigations.
The 41-year-old Leamington man faces a total of 16 charges including assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, three counts of mischief, five counts of theft, and five counts of possession of stolen property.

Fraud suspect surrenders
A woman wanted in connection to a September 2023 fraud investigation turned herself in to police over the weekend.
The 49-year-old surrendered herself to police in Tilbury just before 7 p.m. on Sunday.
She faces charges of possession of stolen property and fraud.
Police released her with conditions and a court date of May 27.

Pair arrested for harassment
A duo of 19-year-olds turned themselves in to Chatham-Kent police after a road rage incident in Wallaceburg.
They went into police headquarters just after 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, following the incident which had been reported that same day.
The two men, from Camden Township, were charged with careless driving and criminal harassment.
