The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is welcoming three new doctors to its team.
And one of them was raised about an hour down the Highway 401 from Chatham-Kent.
Dr. Anthony Piazza, who is joining the CKHA in the Emergency Department, grew up in Windsor and completed medical school on the other side of Chatham-Kent at Western University in London.
A release from the hospital said Dr. Piazza recently completed his residency training at McMaster University with a focus on community practice.
"A friend working in the Emergency Department at CKHA described it as a fast-paced, collegial, and supportive environment," said Dr. Piazza. "Hearing this, I was excited to join the team at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance as I start my career focused on Emergency Medicine."
The CKHA is also welcoming Dr. Andrew Su to the team in the Hospitalist program.
Dr. Su went to McGill University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology before he went on to get his Doctor of Medicine with Schulich School of Medicine at Western University's Windsor Campus.
He completed his residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in 2021 and completed an additional fellowship in hospital medicine with the University of Toronto.
"I'm excited for this opportunity at CKHA not just for the medical care itself but also the community", said Dr. Su. "I feel one of the best ways to learn about a community is through the patients and why you become a Hospitalist is not just taking care of their medical conditions but also being a part of their life through your care."
The third doctor the CKHA is welcoming is Dr. Wael Hasan.
He graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland where he completed his residency training in Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery.
Dr. Hasan is also welcoming referrals to his office at 103 – 111 Heritage Road in Chatham and his office can be reached by phone at 519-397-1865 or fax at 519-380-9598.
"I was very impressed by how welcoming and friendly the people and the staff are at CKHA," said Dr. Hasan. "During my first visit, I was immediately received and treated by everyone as a local. It will be a great honour and a pleasure to serve the people of this community."
