A Halloween event that started during the pandemic is back again this year in Tilbury.
The 3rd Annual Halloween Fright Night will take place at the Tilbury Auto Mall on Saturday, October 29th, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
"At Lally Ford and Tilbury Chrysler there's going to be the scary side," said Adam Lally with Lally Auto Group. "And then on the other side of the road, where we will have a crossing guard, we have the kids' area, which will be some characters and kind of more like the Disney side."
Kids are also encouraged to wear their costumes to the Lally Chevrolet side, and there will be trick-or-treat stations.
The event was a drive-thru the last two years, but this year will it be a walk-thru to allow people to spend more time at the event.
Admission is free, but Lally said they will be accepting donations of non-perishable food.
"Nobody needs to, but if they want to bring canned goods, we are going to have a bin for donations to the Tilbury Food Bank," said Lally. "It's totally free, just something we started during COVID, and just a little way to give back to the community and have some fun."
Lally added the employees have been working on this for months.
"So if you happened to come into the Lally Chevrolet showroom in the last few weeks, you would of noticed there were some huge cardboard props being worked on, and paper mache," said Lally. "It's a process you know, but they have a lot of fun with it, and so do we."
Last year's event saw about 2,500 people come through, and a small trailer full of food and between $400 and $700 in donations were collected.
Parking opens at 5:30 p.m. and closes at 8:30 p.m. For more information on the event, click here.
