CK Flight Fest flies high again

The Chatham-Kent Flight Fest is back and it returns full throttle.

The event called “Hope is in the Air” will have lots to do and see, including static aircraft displays, vintage planes, children’s activities, and live music. Organizers said the public can see the aircraft up close and speak to the aviators who fly them.

In the evening, the planes will make way for the live music. The show will start off with contemporary artist Dan Bremnes; followed by the Original Eagles Tribute Band called Hotel California; and Chatham-Kent’s very own Michelle Wright will be closing out the event.

"We are excited to provide a glimmer of hope to our communities and businesses after the recent years of shutdowns and restrictions," wrote the organizers. "With that need in mind, this year’s event - 'Hope Is in the Air' will highlight humanitarian efforts locally, in Canada, and internationally. Representing local communities in Chatham-Kent, this will be a joint effort of COPA Flight 203 Inc, (the local chapter of the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association) and the management of the Chatham-Kent Municipal Airport."

Flight Fest will be held at the municipal airport on August 6, 2022 and it is free to attend. The gates open at 9 a.m. with the Opening Ceremonies starting at 10 a.m.
