Chatham-Kent police continue investigating a threat of violence that prompted the lockdown of two schools in Dresden.
Both the Lambton-Kent Composite School and the nearby Dresden Area Central School were briefly locked down Thursday afternoon to ensure public safety following the incident.
Police said one person was taken into custody after an alleged threat of violence that occurred off the school property. Investigators said the person has been released unconditionally at this time as the investigation proceeds.
Police reported a heavy police presence in the area as officers investigated the incident. They said at the time, there was no immediate threat or danger to staff or students.
