Some big changes are coming to the Ridgetown branch of the Chatham-Kent Public Library.
Starting Monday, January 6 the location on Main St. will be closed for six to eight weeks for renovations. New vinyl floors will replace the 1980's green carpet, new ceiling tiles will be installed, along with energy-efficient light fixtures.
Other upgrades include a new accessible washroom, more space for community programs, a new circulation desk, more outlets for charging mobile devices, and more comfortable seating. Plus, the staff work area will be reconfigured to more efficiently use the space.
During the closure, residents are being asked to visit the Highgate, Blenheim, or Thamesville branches. The hours at Highgate will be extended during the renovations, and the drop box at the Ridgetown branch will still be open for returns.
Temporary Home Service will be also available for anyone who is unable to travel out of town.
The Ridgetown branch should reopen Friday, February 28.
