Bruce Power named among top employers for young people

For a 15th consecutive year, Bruce Power is being recognized for its efforts to nurture young talent.

The nuclear plant has been named one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People. The award, organized by the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, recognizes organizations that prioritize initiatives to attract, train, and retain younger workers.

“These recognitions reflect the strength of our culture and the commitment we make to our people at every stage of their career,” Karen Smith, chief human resources officer at Bruce Power, said in a statement. “Whether someone is just beginning their career or bringing years of experience to our organization, we are focused on creating an environment where individuals are supported, challenged and given opportunities to grow while contributing to work that truly matters for Ontario and beyond.”

As part of its commitment to helping the next generation of skilled workers, Bruce Power offers comprehensive online and in-house training programs, hands-on work experience for students, and career management and mentorship initiatives. The company is additionally making long-term investments it stated will secure opportunities for the next generation. That includes the Bruce Power LifeExtension Program and Major Component Replacement Project which will extend the life of the site to 2064 and beyond.
