United Way announces Child Passenger Safety Technician Training

United Way Bruce Grey (UWBG) has announced that a Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) Training course is coming to Kincardine.

The course is for local police, fire, and agency staff and will run from October 1-4. Participants will learn to properly install and inspect child car seats, addressing a key safety gap in our region.

UWBG says that, thanks to Community Foundation Grey Bruce, public sector spots are fully funded, and four private sector spots are available.

It also says that "motor vehicle collisions remain a leading cause of injury and death among children in Canada, and proper car seat use significantly reduces the risk. However, studies consistently show that a large percentage of child car seats are installed or used incorrectly."

By receiving this training, participants will then be able to build local capacity to provide expert guidance to families, conduct safety checks, and host community car seat clinics.

Four spots are open to private businesses, such as car dealerships, at a cost of $450 per person for the entire course. To learn more or to register, visit the link here: https://unitedwayofbrucegrey.com/child-passenger-safety-technician-cpst-training-course/
