The Owen Sound River District is joining the nationwide "Shop Main Street Canada, Support Local" campaign to promote local businesses and strengthen the community’s economy.
Main Street businesses play a crucial role in Owen Sound, generating jobs, fostering entrepreneurship, and driving economic growth.
According to campaign statistics, Canada’s main streets provide 1.9 million jobs and generate $300 billion annually.
"This initiative reminds us how much our local businesses contribute to the community," said Viveca Gravel, River District Coordinator. "By choosing to shop local, residents directly support small businesses that, in turn, reinvest in our neighbourhoods."
The campaign encourages people to participate by:
-Shopping at local businesses
-Dining at independently owned restaurants
-Choosing Canadian-made products
-Using the Shop Main Street Canada logo on social media profiles
Residents can explore local businesses through the River District’s website at owensoundriverdistrict.ca/businesses.
The Owen Sound River District remains dedicated to supporting Main Street businesses and fostering a vibrant local economy.
