Driver airlifted to trauma centre after truck hits home

A 64-year-old from Fergus is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after driving into a home in the Township of Wellington North.

The single-vehicle collision happened on Wellington Road 16 near Arthur just before noon on Monday.

Police said the truck left the roadway and struck a home, causing significant damage to the structure.

The driver was airlifted to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. The homeowner was unharmed.

Police said Wellington Road 16 will remain closed as investigators work to figure out how the crash happened.
