A new music festival was launched at the White Squirrel Golf Course, north of Grand Bend this week.
The festival is called The Huron Waves Music Festival and the artistic director is John Miller, who was the founder and artistic director of the Stratford Summer Music Festival for 18 years.
Miller said the festival will run from Thursday to Sunday from May 7 until May 14.
Miller said there are eight different venues all over the county.
"I think there are eight different locations all over the county. There's a little bit of classical, a little bit of folk, there's a little bit of percussion, there's gospel music from London, England. There's all sorts of varieties of music.”
Miller said it was very difficult to turn down the offer that was made to him. He was told organizers wanted to have music in the county, not just in one town.
“We want to have music in the county, not in one town, but everywhere. Will you come and talk to us. So I said sure, let's talk. And then it grew from one thing to another and eventually, out of that has come eight days of music in May.”
Miller said they're working on their website now, but the Huron Waves Music Festival website will be up and running on April 2 and that will have all of the locations and dates and lists of performers.
