Bruce Power Names Acting President

Bruce Power has an Acting President today.

Following on the heels of the announcement in February that Duncan Hawthorne would be retiring soon as the President and CEO of Bruce Power, the recruitment process for a new CEO is underway.

Effective today, Bruce Power's Chief Financial Officer Kevin Kelly has assumed the additional role of Acting President.

Kelly has been with Bruce Power since the company was formed in 2001 and has been responsible for a wide range of functions.  More recently, he was part of the negotiating team that successfully secured a new commercial framework for the site, announced in December, 2015.

Duncan Hawthorne will be retiring on April 30th, after 15 years at the helm. He has agreed to continue to advise and support Bruce Power during the leadership transition.

A tribute to Duncan Hawthorne will be held at the Ripley Community Centre on April 20th in support of the Women’s House of Bruce Grey and the Liv-A-Little Foundation.

Individuals or organizations who would like to participate can find out additional details at www.brucepower.com/duncantribute.
