A number of Goderich residents have made their concerns known about the condition of the Suncoast Mall.
Several Goderich councillors reported this week they had received complaints from residents about the condition of the mall, and that the former Zellers store had become an eye-sore.
Goderich Mayor Kevin Morrison responded that the town is aware of the situation and added the owner of the mall has indicated some some facade work will be done to improve the appearance of the mall.
But Morrison also pointed out there is little the town can do about Zellers and the other vacant store fronts unless the property standards bylaw is violated because it's private property.
The Goderich Zellers store closed shortly after it was announced that it would not be one of the Zellers stores taken over by Target.
