Huron-Bruce Federal Liberals Trying New Ideas

A meeting of the Huron-Bruce Liberal Riding Association last week in Kincardine was the first in a pilot project that they hope will be a regular event.

Allan Thompson was the Liberal candidate in the last federal election.   He explains the executive meets every month, but after the Liberal convention in Winnipeg it was decided to make the meetings more open and make membership to the party free, rather than ask for a ten dollar annual fee.

About fifty people attended the Kincardine meeting and Thompson estimated about a third of them were not already members.

Thompson explains they've changed the constitution but still have to write the bylaws that set how people become members.    He expects the process will be clearer in a couple of months when that's been done.
