Northern Bruce Peninsula’s newest, and youngest ever, councilor says he’s looking to bring fresh ideas to the horseshoe this term.
23-year-old Griffin Salen is the youngest councilor to be elected in the municipality's history.
The Tobermory-native says voters picked for change when they voted him in back in October.
"Our schools are on the chopping-block and our off-season economic development is kinda stagnating," Salen tells CKNX News. "People are seeing a need for change and a new direction."
Salen finished third in councilor voting with 1,329 tallies.
Council will be led by Mayor Milt McIver, who is one term away from matching long-time Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion’s 36-years of service.
Their first meaningful meeting will take place Monday night.
