Several pets were killed in a house fire west of Port Dover that caused $600,000 damage.
According to OPP Constable Andrew Gamble, Norfolk County firefighters were called to the blaze on Highway 6 between Port Ryerse Road and Norfolk County Highway 24 around 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
Despite high winds at the time, fire crews were able to contain the flames to the home, a nearby vehicle, and two small outbuildings.
No one was hurt, but several animals died in the fire.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
